Welcome to the new Maconpix

July 21, 2010

After years of languishing, it was time for a new MaconPix.  Hopefully the site is an improvement over the old one; it is certainly more streamlined, with fewer pages to maintain and distractions to, well, distract.  As before, this is just a hobby site for a hopeless photographer, who's always looking for that perfect shot. When there's new content to be seen, I'll try to change the banner photo.  You can always take a look at my Photo-a-Day blog to see what I've been up to.

update on the family

October 29, 2010

October 29, 2010 - Lots to update as we head to November... Alan and Jenn were married on October 24th, and the wedding was a HUGE success!  Lots of family made it, from as far away as Minnesota and Canada.  I think everyone was exhausted by the end of the event, but we all had a great time.  Prior to that, Alan and Roger took a road trip to The Big Texan restaurant in Amarillo, home of the 72 oz. steak challenge.  Alan was able to complete the steak and all the trimmings, with just over a minute to spare.  R hopes to post photos of both events in the near future.

July 21, 2010 - It's been a couple of years since I updated the front page for the old MaconPix.  Obviously a lot has changed in that time.  Ben is still a Horned Frog at TCU, and is engaged to the lovely Jasmine Gonzalez, who hails from from El Paso, Texas.  Alan, too, is engaged, to Jenn DeYoung, from Saginaw.  Their wedding is imminent, with a projected date of October 24, 2010!  We are quite excited to finally have the daughters we never had, and love both of the girls.

After completing her Master's degree, Cindy continues to wrangle the home-front, while looking for the perfect job.  She was thrown a curve last year, when Roger (me) found the nearly perfect house, just outside of Newark.  I found the house on my Mom's birthday (September 16th), and we were moved in by early December - Yay!!!  We're headed for our 30th anniversary this December.

I'm still the chief of police for the city of Saginaw.  Hard to believe I've been here nearly 10 years already.  That on top of 20 years at Haltom City makes pretty much 30 years in law enforcement.  Wow, we must be getting old.
